On Saturday, on 22 August, at the Museum of the Factory, we met at the opening of the unique ETHNO DETAIL photo-design exhibition.The exhibition consists of several parts:The photographs present ETHNO DETAILS captured by young reporters during the last nine editions of the International Festival of Youth Creativity FOLK INSPIRATIONS.
Decorative elements and fragments of costumes of representatives of various cultures who performed on the stages of previous editions of the festival were displayed here. We can find elements characteristic of the tradition of: Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Estonia, Georgia, the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Palestine, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, Hungary, Uzbekistan and, of course Poland.
A large part of the exhibits presenting ETHNO DETAILS from different parts of the world are souvenirs brought by festival guests and by groups from the Centre participating in international projects. You can see, among others, decorative elements and characteristic patterns on everyday objects, costumes from various parts of the world: from Japan, Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Algeria and Palestine.
The exhibition also includs ETHNO DETAILS characteristic of our folk culture. Among the exhibits there are elements of costumes from Lublin, Krakow, Podhale and Rzeszów. They come from the collection of the POLTEX Song and Dance Ensemble.
There are also works inspired by ethnic details: eye-catching patterns on large-format fabrics, a collection of costumes inspired by the Rawa striped costume and ethnic felt jewelry.It is also worth paying attention to the works prepared by young people from various countries during the artistic workshops carried out as part of last year’s edition of FOLK INSPIRATIONS. Using various materials and fabrics as well as artistic techniques, young artists created works referring to the symbolism characteristic of their native culture.
The exhibition can be admired till 10 September 2020.
